BY CAR
Ayrshire is situated on the south west coast of Scotland, just south of Glasgow. 

Traveling to Ayrshire from England
Simply head north towards Carlisle and once you have crossed the Scottish border follow signs for Kilmarnock and Ayr.  The scenic Galloway Tourist Route, along the A713, is a beautiful alternative to the main roads

Head towards Glasgow and pick up the M77 / A77 towards Kilmarnock & Ayr.

Situated in the heart of Ayrshire, Glasgow Prestwick International Airport has its own rail station offering links throughout the area and also to Glasgow.  Glasgow International Airport is less than 1 hour's drive away and also easily accessible by rail or bus.

Ryanair is the main airline flying into Prestwick with a number of direct flights from London and Europe at very competitive fares.  A number of other operators also use the airport.

Visitors from Ireland can use the ferry services from Larne to Cairnryan and Belfast to Stranraer.  Between March and October there is also a high-speed ferry service from Larne to Troon.
