WELCOME TO THE FESTIVAL AND THE 250TH
ANNIVERSARY OF THE BIRTH OF ROBERT BURNS 

2009 is a big year for us here at burns an’ a’ that! Not only are we pleased to present our biggest Festival ever, but it’s made extra special as we celebrate the 250th Anniversary of Burns’ birth, in this the year of Scottish Homecoming.

Now in its 8th year, the burns an’ a’ that! Festival is Ayrshire’s leading celebration of Burns, his legacy and the best in music and arts. This year, we have made an extra effort to ramp up the celebrations to mark this special occasion. From a fantastic opening celebration of Burns’ work, to a classic and traditional music-filled Festival Finale in our Festival Club, we will present over 100 events for you to enjoy. Throughout the week, our line-up includes some amazing events. Catch one of the biggest names in Scottish comedy, Rhona Cameron, in our even bigger Festival Club. Or how about an intimate gig with Hue and Cry? Celebrate all that is great about Burns in a variety of events dedicated to the man himself, or just indulge in one of our many food and drink events.

As well as a range of family and children’s events throughout the week to get everyone in the Festival spirit, we will have big name acts from the world of X Factor - and of course - the best of Scottish talent.

We’re certain you will find the burns an’ a’ that! Festival 2009 an event not to be missed and we hope that you can come along and help us celebrate the legacy of Burns and the talent of Scotland in this special year.
